Joy Crookes' voice is smooth as butter

Image
Joy Crookes' just released her new album titled Skin , and when it comes to her voice and lyrics, she really is baring it all. I came across her single, "Trouble," and was blown away by her sound. The 23-year-old has a raspiness like Adele, but a little more raw with a touch of reggae. Once the beat drops, you'll have this song on repeat. It's very catchy and easy to sing along to. The chorus lyrics are really the best: ♪  You’re all that I need... But we break every time (Every time)... Birds of feather fly together... Your trouble’s the same as mine (Mine)♪ Basically she is singing about an on-off relationship that has its ups and downs. That kind of relationship where you get together... then something happens... then you call it off only to find yourself coming back to that one again and again. Joy is definitely an artist to watch, because she is just getting started and has the potential to go mainstream soon.

Adele is back!... And SO AM I!

Image
First of all, WELCOME to my blog that has risen from the dead! I'm so happy to relaunch this place for ALL music lovers to gather and discover new music together. There will also be a few surprises this time along the way that will be satisfactory. With that said, I would be remiss if I didn't choose the one & only Adele for my first comeback post. She just released her new single, "Easy On Me" off her new album, 30 , out on Nov. 19. It's been nearly 7 years since we've heard any new music from her, and let's just say the wait was well worth it. Adele's voice sounds better than it ever has! "Easy On Me" is another beautiful breakup piano ballad that will leave you in tears while also trying to belt out the tune. Adele when through a divorce after giving birth to her baby boy. I can imagine this song is about getting married at a young age and realizing she and her ex were just not ready for it. She keeps repeating, "Go easy on me...

Tkay Maidza brings a refreshing different sound to music scene

Image
Tkay Maidza is an Australian singer-songwriter & rapper who just debuted her self-titled album Tkay in the U.S., and I have to say I'm LOVING her new & different sound. The 22-year-old keeps her vocals simple & whispy on her tracks, but she definitely can throw down a rap verse that can go up against the other female rappers already on the music scene. Her sound is sort of reminiscent of M.I.A. My two favorite songs from her new album are titled "Follow Me" & "Simulation." "Follow Me" is a fun pop song with a catchy chorus that anyone can easily sing to. It shows Tkay's softer side, but don't let her angelic face fool you, because she also has some explicit tracks on this album as well to show her bad girl side. "Simulation" is also another fun pop song that I can see being a radio-friendly hit for her. The beat is fun with its percussion & beat drop during the chorus. You can listen to both tracks below. Anderson East is a blues legend in the making...LISTEN HERE!

Image
If you haven't heard of Anderson East yet, then once you do you'll be adding him to your playlist. But you may have heard his name. That's because he's currently dating country star Miranda Lambert. But aside from that, the 30-year-old is a true talent with a blues sound that's reminiscent of the legendary Otis Redding. East is from Alabama, and his music and voice stays true to his southern roots. My favorite track off his new album, Encore , is titled "If You Keep Leaving Me." East starts off with his raspy but yet calm voice, but make no mistake he reaches the chorus and that's when you begin to feel his soul as he belts it out. Keep your eye on this guy, because he is going to go places! Below you can listen to his songs "If you Keep Leaving Me" & "King For A Day." You can download & stream East's album Encore on iTunes now!

New artist Cloves delivers a catchy retro sound

Image
Meet 21-year-old Australian singer "Cloves." She has released her new single titled, "Bringing the House Down," and it's giving me all the retro feels. Her voice is reminiscent of the 60s & 70s. It has such a wide-range from low to high, and it's a seamless transition between both on this song. The second you hear the guitar strums in the beginning, you are hooked, but then you add Cloves vocals, and as soon as you know it, you're singing along to its catchy chorus. Cloves is making her mark on the music scene with this as her first single. I'm thinking we'll see more of her in the near future. You can watch the music video for "Bringing the House Down" below. If you like it, then you can also download the song on iTunes.

Avicii is back with a club banger!

Self-claimed "retired" DJ Avicii couldn't help but to get back on the music scene, and he's making sure everyone knows he means business. The 27-year-old just released his new EP titled, Avicii (01) - EP . One of my favorite tracks on it features singer Rita Ora titled "Lonely Together." Rita's voice sounds a little less raspy than it usually does and flows perfectly with the beat that builds to a nice chorus and beat drop. It's perfect for the end of summer! Check it out below! "Lonely Together" is now available to download & stream.

Starley brings old school dance back with "Touch Me"

Image
Starley is a music artist to definitely keep an eye on. The throttle remix of her new song "Touch Me" gives me some nostalgia, because it's got that old school early 90s dance beat that just makes you happy. Kinda reminiscent like a Whitney or Mariah song. Her voice just glides smoothly along the lyrics. So give it a listen below. If you like it, then its available to download & stream now!

NEW ARTIST: Thomas Augusto gives the feels in "Bed with a Stranger"

Image
Meet Thomas Augusto, the new Latin pop singer who just released his single "Bed with a Stranger," and it's quite a great bop. First of all, Thomas' vocals are strong on the track and are comparable to Marc Anthony's style of singing. The song is about the struggles and growing pains of a relationship and sometimes feeling like you don't know the person you love to the point you feel like they can be a complete stranger. Thomas evokes the emotion he's feeling throughout the song with its lyrics and his singing. It's easy for the chorus to get stuck in your head. I have no doubt Thomas will be on your radar once you listen to this song. "Bed with a Stranger" is now available on iTunes.

DJ duo Total Ape releases hot new dance track "More"

Image
"More" is the new dance song that you MUST HAVE on your playlist right now. It's from the upcoming Swedish DJ duo known as Total Ape and features the vocals of Swedish singer "Miss Li" aka Linda Carlsson. This song really brings back the type of EDM music that we've been lacking lately with a groovy vibe and catchy chorus. The beats are refreshing and unlike anything that's on the radio right now. I have a feeling this song could launch Total Ape to bigger success in the music industry, and it's certainly a step in the right direction if they're trying to build their own sound. Below is the music video for "More," showcasing a group of girls breaking into a celebrity's home and going crazy with the things they find inside. "More" is now available to download on iTunes!
