The song is about the struggles and growing pains of a relationship and sometimes feeling like you don't know the person you love to the point you feel like they can be a complete stranger. Thomas evokes the emotion he's feeling throughout the song with its lyrics and his singing. It's easy for the chorus to get stuck in your head.
