The Walking Dead season 5, episode 5 review (spoilers below)

Man oh man! So much to say about this week’s episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ that was filled with a huge secret from one of the characters. First, this episode started with suspense right off the top when the bus carrying some of the characters suddenly flipped with a group of zombies nearby of course. But no need to fear, all got out with minor injuries and of course killed the zombies (always weird to say that because they’re already dead). Throughout the episode, we see Abraham having flashbacks of him killing men with his bare hands in a supermarket to him finding his family (who seemed scared of his murderous behavior) dead outside. It was very emotional, and we begin to see why Abraham has a hard exterior. But a shocking revelation came from Dr. Eugene Porter, who confesses to Tara that he had caused the bus to crash by filling its parts up with glass. When she asked him why, he told her he felt he had no purpose, which we later come to find out in the end, he doesn’t! Fast-forward to end, he reveals to the characters that he really isn’t a scientist who can save the world and that he lied only to survive and stay alive. Furious with this news, of course is Abraham who reminds Eugene of all the people who died to keep him alive. Really, we come to find out getting Eugene to Washington D.C. gave Abraham hope and a purpose after he almost tried to kill himself when he found his family dead. Abraham punches Eugene so hard that Eugene falls to the ground and practically busts his head open. The episode ends with the characters tending to Eugene, and Abraham looking like a helpless man collapsing to his knees. As a viewer, I’m very disappointed with Eugene’s revelation, because it gave not only the characters hope, but the fans, hoping there would be a way to end all this mess once they got to Washington. But I think Eugene will do something great in the future to make us all forgive him. Otherwise, we are all going to HATE him (or at least I will haha). Anyways, I can’t wait to see what next week’s episode holds, as the whole cast of characters is now once again split into 3 separate groups. Until next week my friends J
