ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Elle King resurrects the sound of classic female rockstars

Have you heard of Elle King? If not, then I'm sure you will and soon! She just released her new album, Love Stuff last month, and it's already gaining lots attention for Elle's classic rock and soulful sound. I would describe her as the love child of Janis Joplin and Adele. Yeah, I just compared her to two of the greatest singers of all time and for good reason. The girl has some serious pipes, belting out that rock raspiness both Joplin and Adele possess. She lets you know she is not your average pop princess. She has something to say, and she makes sure you hear it. Believe it or not, she is the daughter of comedian actor Rob Schneider. Who knew the guy could reproduce such talent! Below, I've posted two of my favorite songs from Elle's album, although the whole album is AMAZING! I could listen to it from beginning to end without regret.



The first is called Ex's & Oh's, which Elle performed just recently on The Today Show. She looked and sounded amazing. Judge for yourself!


The second is MY FAVORITE from her album called America's Sweetheart. It's got kind of a country vibe to it and a great and catchy chorus that almost sounds like a Katy Perry chorus. This song is just screaming, "HIT!" GIVE IT A LISTEN!

Avicii's 'Waiting for Love' gets awesome remix!

Swedish DJ Avicii had recently released his song "Waiting for Love." Now the remixes to this already awesome track have been released, and I have this one on REPEAT! Sia is giving me some 'Cheap Thrills' with her new dance song

It was just 2 weeks ago that I blogged about Sia's song Move Your Body, and now the singer/songwriter has wowed me again with her song Cheap Thrills . I AM LOVING IT! Not only does it have a great dance beat, but it also has some catchy lyrics. She also enlisted Sean Paul on this track, which reminded me the reason why he was such a hit maker back in the early 2000s. Now remember Sia used to write music for some big artists until she thought, 'Hey I can sing too!' She can really sing anything! I always like to think who she would pick to sing her songs if she couldn't perform them herself, and I can totally hear Gwen Stefani singing this one. Reports say she actually wrote it for Rihanna, but we all know RiRi has gone the more urban and acoustic route for her new album.
